Hello again Young Jammers families and instructors!
Please mark your calendars for our next Young Jammers event on Sunday, September 17th, 2 p.m.! This time will be a bit different, but just as full of music, because it will be a workshop at the Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival!
It will be located in the Rooftop Solar Workshop Stage at the Fort Tuthill County Fairgrounds, next to the Commercial Building. Although this workshop is in conjunction with Pickin’ in the Pines, there is no charge to attend the workshop and a ticket is not required.
More details on workshops can be found here: https://pickininthepines.org/workshops/

We are working on finalizing our fall schedule and location. Please stay tuned for an announcement!

If you’re new to our program, Young Jammers provides an opportunity for youth (ages approx. 9-15) to enjoy learning how to play traditional music with others. There is no charge to participate. Group lessons are free and students are welcome to take home a loaner instrument as long as they are participating in the program.
New students will start with the ukulele, and after earning their “admissions pass” by learning several chords, they will be able to choose their next instrument to pursue from our loaner inventory. Most of our students choose fiddle or guitar, but we hope to have a few banjo and mandolin players as well!
