Bookmans-logo-100guitarFlagstaff Friends of Traditional Music’s Young Jammers program is extending their workshops to Bookman’s.  Join us each month as we sit down to learn to play a musical instrument.  Young Jammers teaches string instruments to 8-16 year olds.  For the first hour we’ll be playing with complete novices and beginners, and then from 12-1 more advanced musicians are welcome!

The event is free and we will provide as many instruments as we have, but do bring your own if you have one or more to share.

The Holiday Singing and Guitar workshop will be taught by Terry Alan, John Borham and Cabell Breckenridge. Enjoy a day of guitar pickin’ at Bookmans with Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music.

Terry_AlanTerry Alan is a local musician playing in, and around Flagstaff for years.  Over the last 10 years he has been building Flagstaff School of Music, a place dedicated to music education.  Flagstaff School of Music (FSM) was formed due to his love for playing & passion for teaching. Terry believes that music instruction should include a balance of theory, techniques, and ear training.  Terry keeps things exciting as he is sure to interject plenty of humor into his private lessons every day.  It has been often noted that Terry’s approach is “The fun way to learn music.”

John_BorhamJohn Borham grew up listening to traditional music from all over the world and playing classical guitar. In high school he joined a jazz band where he learned to play with musicians of other instruments and compose original work. Today, you might find John playing music downtown, or in his middle school classroom where he teaches general education.
