Flagstaff Arts Council is pleased to present Stillhouse Junkies at Coconino Center for the Arts on Friday, May 3rd, 2019. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm.

Stillhouse Junkies bring together a mixture of blues, funk, swing, and bluegrass to create a delirious and unique sound. Instruments are shared as they blend their vocals. The Junkies pay tribute to Gillian Welch, the Allman Brothers, John Hiatt, and other iconic legends but continue to break new ground and bend all genres. Born out of a weekly residency at a local distillery, StillHouse Junkies have quickly become a staple of Durango’s rich local music scene They include improvisation in their shows and have created a solid fan base through their eclectic performances.

The band is made up of three stellar musicians. Alissa Wolf studied the violin at age 8. She spent many summers intensively studying at the Music in the Mountains Conservatory, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, and more. Fred Kosak has over 12 years as a professional musician and played in numerous ensembles of varying styles and instrumentations, ranging from funk cover bands to intimate acoustic duets. Cody Tinnin started playing trombone at a young age and developed an ear for jazz. He joined the Outta Hand String Band in 2004 before following his culinary passions to Austin, Texas. After close to a decade deep in the heart of Texas, Cody returned to the Durango area.

Fred, Alissa, and Cody came together around a shared goal of bringing sounds and grooves to their fans that fall outside of simple genre distinctions. Interaction with the audience and quirky on-stage banter create an experience that is simply unforgettable.
