The 2nd Annual Ogden Roots & Blues Festival will be held August 22, 23, and 24, 2014 at North Fork Park in Liberty, UT. The event is presented by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM).
Organizers aim to provide this year’s festival goers with high caliber performances, rich in musical diversity. Zydeco superstars Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys, and Americana country rock blues band, The Black Lillies and acoustic bluesman Corey Harris kick off the party Friday night, while legendary Booker T.Jones, and blues guitar goddess Carolyn Wonderland headline Saturday. The three day event will also feature a wide variety of roots and blues artists such as Purgatory Hill, The Rockin’ Jukes, Mad Max & the Wild Ones, Joe McQueen Quartet, Better Off with the Blues, and Scotty Haze Band.
In keeping with OFOAM’s mission to expose local youth to traditional instrument playing, Utah’s Rhythm of Life Drum Bus will offer kids of all ages the opportunity play a variety of world percussion instruments in this self contained “mobile music workshop.” A children’s arts and crafts booth will also be featured. Kids 16 & under are FREE to all OFOAM events!
