Flagstaff Speak Up (an F3 initiative) is looking to team up with local musicians inspired to play old and new songs of protest. They are interested in tunes by Dylan, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary & all the other songs that lead movement through Washington and all across our nation. They want to bring music back to the front lines of today’s issues. If you are someone who protested the war in Vietnam, with the civil rights movement, or any of the other numerous times of which people united for change with your voice, your instrument or simply with you support, Flagstaff Speak Up wants YOU!
Their next event will be on MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 18th from 4:45-6:30 at Firecreek Coffee. If this is something that sparks your interest, please contact Adam Shimoni: Adam.Shimoni@friendsofflagstaff.org, 928.380.2345. Visit flagstaffspeakup.wordpress.com for more details.
