FFOTM Young Jammers provides free folk music instruction and loaner instruments for Flagstaff’s youth. Free instrument instruction includes guitar, bass, violin, and mandolin. Students learn scales and to play the melody and/or chords in a small group for the first hour of class, then join as a group to jam together.
We are currently seeking a volunteer fiddle instructor to help with lessons. Sessions take place at Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA) on the first and third Tuesdays of school months from 4-5:30pm.
Please contact our Young Jammers Director John Borham at john@ffotm.org if you are able to donate some of your time to this great program.
More about the Young Jammers Program:
Instruments are donated by our generous community to inspire and nurture talent of our youth. Other valuable donations include cases and accessories such as strings, bows and rosin, picks and instructional books. Monetary contributions help with repairs and marketing as well as instrument purchases when needed.
